While television news feed people with terror, on the Bosphorus people feed seagulls with bread and love.
I spent fabulous days in one of the most beautiful places on earth, at Ciragan Palace Kempinski.
I did not feel any fear, not for a second.
I felt the energy of a place that is 3000 years old.
I drank the aromatic Turkish tea in tulip-shaped glasses.
I ate mackerel and anchovies in traditional fish markets.
I had Turkish coffee in bars at the Bosporus.
It’s the only sprawling metropolis, laying on two continents, where life flows quietly, like the Bosphorus. I had the chance to admire all of the lights and shades, the sunrise and sunset from my big terrace at Ciragan Palace Kempinski Hotel in Istanbul.
The location of the once summer residence of the sultans is on the Bosporus, within walking distance to the boats crossing to the Asian side and within a short taxi ride to Taksim square and the Horn.
Rooms with a sea view are blessed with balconies that overlook the waters and with the music from the numerous vessels, which constantly navigate these waters until deep into the night.
The hotel is spacious and luxurious. Rooms are well designed, with wide bathrooms and large terraces.
It is a place rich in culture, history, architecture, with an absolutely spectacular decor.
It really deserves its 5*. Rooms are painted in different colors, welcoming, cozy and bright.
I’m greedy and I love Turkish food, but I think the restaurant may satisfy the most demanding culinary tastes.
Breakfast is varied, with the ever-present Turkish coffee.
I dined like sultans inside the Ottoman palace.
I liked the facilities – fruit baskets every day and sweets served in the late afternoon.
The gym is a must if you consider how much you eat there. It is spacious and well equipped. There is a pool inside and one outside.
Ciragan Palace‘s gardens are amazing! I could spend days and hours walking by.
The staff provide exceptional service and friendliness from the moment of arrival to departure.
They bring you cold clothes, clean your sun glasses and offer mini ice cream cones while you laze by the pool. 🙂
At dusk, when you enjoy a drink on the terrace, there was chanting coming from the many Mosques close by.
Such a remarkable experience at Ciragan Palace Kempinski Hotel!
